Second round almost complete

Being "me" payed of.  What that means is my decision to play golf of Tuesday and delay my treatment from the morning to the late afternoon/evening payed dividends.  This decision in 95 degree heat, even after consuming copious amounts of water and gatorade, left me a little dehydrated.  Fortunately the oncologists flipped R-ICE to R-ECI.  In order to not get lost in a pharmacologic dictionary.  What this means is they could flip flop the first and last drug.  The fantastic reality is this meant I received the tough, neuro-cognitive altering, and nausea inducing portion first.  I had the past 2-3 days to sleep these effects off and I'm feeling much better than last go around.  Sure this could also be attributed to by body's becoming accustomed to the the treatment, but I think the afore topic has more baring.

The week has been monotonous filled with numerous hours of sleep all of which I'll say I needed.  The beautiful Alexandra has spent the night in our small hospital bed by my side each night as my parents take care of the three beasts at home.  As I've stated before I'm extremely lucky to be surrounded by family and friends that not only care, but are afforded the ability to share their time.

It was confirmed this week that I would endure 3 doses of initial chemo instead of two.  The issue at hand is damaging my stem cells to the point where harvesting them would be mute.  The intelligent physicians with the empirical no-how made the decision and I'm on board.

I'll be released around 4-5 PM tomorrow evening and probably head straight to the gym.  I was able to execute squats on Wednesday, but yesterday and today I have been locked up with a 24 hour chemo drip and I'm not allowed to leave the floor, in fear that I might contaminate someone else.  Funny on two accounts, one being if anyone has the capacity to spill shit its me so I get it, but secondly these drugs are being delivered into my venous system and they are worried about  contamination?!   I'm laughing...don't know about you:)

One little anecdote.  As I was preparing to leave the house on Tuesday the thought of my appetite disappearing entered my mind so the fat kid within entered quickly.  This pick is my final meal before entering jail.  Funny though, my appetite never really left me:) Home made meatball sub from mom, Johnson Brautwurst, Coke, and Doritos.  I didn't actually eat any Doritos, but I thought they went well:)

Cheers to all.

Andy

Ps...this is from Alex. While playing editor for Andy's blog (given his cognitive impairment this is incredibly important as you might not be able to decipher some of his posts) I wanted to add a few things.  The funniest thing happened this morning. The look on the morning Tech's face when she walked in to see 2 people asleep in the hospital bed was priceless. I think she almost had a heart attack. She was afraid to even take Andy's blood pressure. Her reasoning was because she said that if she was in bed with another man, especially one as handsome as Andy, her blood pressure would be through the roof! It was AWESOME!  After the Tech woke us up,  the first thing Andy said to me was "want to have a movie date night tonight?" After I processed what he said I was immediately reminded of why I love this man so much. He found a way to propose the impossible. So tonight I rented Safe House and we are about to sign off to watch it on the Mac. This is definitely a date night I will always remember!
