Day two of treatment is coming to a close. One more dose of chemo tonight in about an hour for a period of two hours starting at 10pm CST. The physicians and staff have been extremely cautious with this new session due to the historical issues patients have with the drugs administered.
The treatments are usually anywhere from 2-12 hours apart allowing optimal time for my body to handle the injections. I have handled all bags very well.
After Alex's post this morning we continued on our path of hilarity and fun through social interaction with each other, a short 45 minute trip to the gym in Harris Methodist Fort Worth Texas where I was able to perform a light, but needed workout and visits from family. All soothing and comforting:)
Tomorrow is the last day of chemo followed by a rescue day of recovery drugs to ensure my immune system can handle the onslaught the drugs will engender on my body and its organs.
As with all situations like this in my life I've taken it on with a mindset that allows me to swallow it with openness, love from friends and family coupled with optimism driven by success and failure in the past.
Our trials in life are defined by how we acknowledge, accept and and choose to proceed with their various outcomes. I have simply been lucky with the way mine have turned out and directly relate them to the support of all those who care and constantly pray for me and my family.
On to another day. I will keep you posted and know that life isn't that bad on my side. Food, workouts and narcotics to assist with the discomfort.
Andy
The first pic is dinner with my love, my uncle John and Aunt Julie who made the 50 min drive down from Allen, Texas and the second is from our visit to the gym where I did light legs. Got to keep the body in line!
